To boldly go where no one has gone before

I saw the new Star Trek film at the weekend and while I’m not going to spoil your fun by revealing the story line other than to say it’s well worth going to see, a very logical choice. I remember watching the original Star Trek as a child and marvelling at this vision that Gene Rodenbury had created. Not just our world united in peace but united with other planets in the Federation. War, hunger, and poverty a thing of the past. Truly an excitatory vision of possibility. How many of you in our credit crunched reality today still believe in that exciting vision?

Or is it too much of a pipe dream from the 1960’s?

We’re living in the 21st century, the world of tomorrow, and yet many of us have a vision where things are more ending than beginning. Where we run out of oil, run out of energy and begin the slow decline back into a new medievalism.

So who’s right?

I believe both are.

I believe you make a choice. You can choose to be in the excitatory and teach others how to join you there or you can be in the inhibitory and drag others down with you. What Joseph teaches is living from and being pure possibility, the skill set for how to do this for and with other people which if course always starts with yourself.

You can evolve yourself to You 2.0 and help others do the same. Or are you going to devolve into some morlock, it’s coming time to decide?

It takes courage, it’s not for everyone, it takes a certain kind of hero to boldly go where no one has gone before. Joseph Campbell says in The Hero With a Thousand Faces: “Furthermore, we have not even to risk the journey alone; for the heroes of all time have gone before us; the labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. And where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.”

This is the inward journey, you decide to become elite, you decide to be the difference that makes the difference or you’re someone else’s lunch.

You’ve got 4 days to save $500 dollars if you’re bold enough, it’s the logical decision.
